The ultrasonic water meter is a high-accuracy electronic flow meter leveraging the ultrasonic time-of-flight principle. (1) Structural Elements

  • Ultrasonic Transducers: One or multiple transducer pairs for emitting and receiving ultrasonic waves.
  • Flow Measurement Tube: Unobstructed straight-through design (negligible pressure drop).
  • Electronics Module: Performs signal processing, flow computation, data storage, and communication.
  • Display Unit: LCD screen displays flow rate, cumulative usage, alarm messages, etc.

(2) Operational Principle

Measures the time delay (ΔT) of ultrasonic wave transmission in downstream and upstream paths, then computes flow velocity and volume using pipe cross-sectional area:
Portata q = k × (t₁⁻¹ - t₂⁻¹) × a
(K = calibration factor; A = pipe cross-sectional area)
